Junk removal in Cape Coral

Cape Coral's bulk rules are mostly about how you set things out. Waste Pro, the city's contractor, takes bulk on your regular collection day, along with garbage, recycling and yard waste.

Keep it neat and low. Nothing stacked, everything within 3 feet of the road, cardboard broken down and in the recycling bin, and anything small enough for the cart goes in the cart. No single item can weigh more than 150 pounds. Carpet is cut into 4-foot sections and bundled at 40 pounds or less. An old hot tub can go only if it's cut into pieces one person can handle, and you're limited to two wood pallets per pickup. A whole "move-out" pile isn't part of normal bulk pickup; it has to be scheduled, and a fee may apply.

Remodel leftovers mostly stay off the curb. Tile, pavers, concrete, roofing, insulation, bathtubs, patio doors and fence sections aren't accepted. The city's drop-off site on the west side of the North Cape Government Complex, off NW 14th Avenue, won't take construction debris either, even from a resident. It's open Tuesday through Saturday, for residents only.

Some very Florida items are welcome, though. Empty pool pumps and filters, and even well tanks, can go to the curb once they're broken down into their separate parts.

Questions homeowners ask

How accurate is a photo estimate?
It’s a ballpark, not a quote. A photo gives us a good read on how much there is, but a hauler who sees it in person will always be more precise. Use our number as the range to expect before you start calling around.
How is junk removal priced?
By how much of a truck your stuff fills — a few items cost far less than a full truckload. Heavy or special items like appliances and mattresses add a disposal fee.
Do you handle big or heavy items?
Most haulers do — appliances, furniture, mattresses, construction debris. Let us know in the quick questions so the ballpark includes the disposal fees.
Is this really free?
Yes. No signup, no credit card, no spam. We only make money if you choose to connect with a local pro — and that’s up to you.
What photo works best?
One shot that shows the whole pile, or the full room, gives the best read on how much there is.
