Pressure washing in Worcester

Whether you can run a hose against your house in Worcester depends on the drought level the state has declared for Central Massachusetts. The city has worked through three of them in the last two years.

At Level 1, in October 2024, the city held every nonessential outdoor water use to one day a week. Odd-numbered addresses got Tuesday, even-numbered ones got Thursday, and only before 9 a.m. or after 5 p.m.

The state moved the region to Level 2 in September 2025, and the city banned nonessential outdoor use outright, apart from watering flower gardens and ornamental plants by drip, hand-held hose or watering can. A Level 3 critical drought followed in March 2026, again with every nonessential outdoor use banned.

The notices never define nonessential, and none of them mentions washing siding, decks or driveways. They don't call a house wash essential either. If a ban comes back while your wash is on the calendar, that gap is worth a call to Worcester 311 before the crew unrolls a hose.

For now the dial is back at zero. The city's drought page lists no drought and no water use restrictions for Worcester water users, with the reservoirs at 90 percent of capacity as of September 19, 2026.

Questions homeowners ask

How accurate is a photo estimate?
It’s a ballpark, not a quote. A photo gives us a good read on the surface and how dirty it is, but a pro who sees the whole property will always be more precise. Use our number as the range to expect before you start calling around.
How is pressure washing priced?
Mostly by the square footage and the surface — a concrete driveway is cheaper per foot than siding or a wood deck, which need a gentler soft-wash. Heavy algae, mildew, or oil stains add to it because they take detergent and a second pass.
Will pressure washing damage my siding or deck?
It can if it’s done at full pressure on the wrong surface — that’s why good pros soft-wash siding and wood. Our ballpark factors in the gentler method for delicate surfaces.
Is this really free?
Yes. No signup, no credit card, no spam. We only make money if you choose to connect with a local pro — and that’s up to you.
What photo works best?
One shot showing the full surface you want cleaned — the whole driveway or the side of the house — gives the best read on the size and how dirty it is.
