Junk removal in Boise
Boise's trash service includes a large item pickup, but you have to ask for it. The city's Curb It guide describes it as a limited collection of bulky items like couches, appliances and mattresses, scheduled by phone through Republic Services, the city's hauler. Make the call before the sofa goes out.
Smaller overflow has its own fix. If you've got more regular trash than the cart holds, a city overflow sticker on your own 32-gallon can covers it. Electronics, small appliances, paint and batteries skip the curb entirely and go to the city's household hazardous waste sites.
For a cleanout too big for one pickup, the Ada County Landfill on Seaman's Gulch Road takes loads directly, weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Only waste generated in Ada County is accepted there. It charges by weight with a minimum, and it adds a per-item charge on tires and on anything holding refrigerant. Bring more than 12 tires and you'll need permission first.
What you haul there doesn't all get buried, either. The landfill runs on-site recycling for wood, tires, large appliances including refrigerators and air conditioners, electronics, scrap metal and household cardboard, so it helps to load those apart from the rest.
