Junk removal in the Mountain states
Across the Mountain states, hauling a load out to open country is no shortcut when the land is federal. On Bureau of Land Management land, federal rules bar disposing of household, commercial or industrial refuse brought from private or municipal property, unless it's authorized. In national forests, dumping trash or debris brought from private property is banned, except in a container or dump that's been provided and marked for that purpose.
