Junk removal in El Paso

There are two ways to get rid of an old recliner in El Paso: pay for a city pickup, or drive it to one of five Citizen Collection Stations.

The pickup is a special collection you request by phone from Environmental Services, weekdays between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m. It's billed by the cubic yard. On the day, have everything at the curb in front of the house by 6 a.m., off the sidewalk, and at least 5 feet from your carts, mailbox, fence, wall, water meter, parked car and low branches.

The stations are the do-it-yourself route, for residents only, not businesses or contractors. You request a pass first, then show an ID whose address matches your water bill. They're open Tuesday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a limit of four visits a month. Trailers have to be single-axle and no longer than 8 feet. Bulky items, recyclables, electronics and household hazardous waste can all go there, with paint and motor oil capped at 5 gallons a month. Construction and demolition material isn't accepted, even from your own remodel. On a windy day, call ahead; the city says stations can close for wind, rain or snow.

If that recliner still works, there's another stop. The Country Store inside the Confederate Drive station takes gently used appliances, furniture, toys and bikes, and residents can take home up to five items a month.

Questions homeowners ask

How accurate is a photo estimate?
It’s a ballpark, not a quote. A photo gives us a good read on how much there is, but a hauler who sees it in person will always be more precise. Use our number as the range to expect before you start calling around.
How is junk removal priced?
By how much of a truck your stuff fills — a few items cost far less than a full truckload. Heavy or special items like appliances and mattresses add a disposal fee.
Do you handle big or heavy items?
Most haulers do — appliances, furniture, mattresses, construction debris. Let us know in the quick questions so the ballpark includes the disposal fees.
Is this really free?
Yes. No signup, no credit card, no spam. We only make money if you choose to connect with a local pro — and that’s up to you.
What photo works best?
One shot that shows the whole pile, or the full room, gives the best read on how much there is.
