Junk removal in Spokane
Spokane's garbage company is the city itself. Inside city limits, weekly garbage service is required for every occupied home, and the carts come from the City of Spokane Solid Waste Collection. So does help with a sofa or an old washer. Call 311 ahead of time and the city will pick up large or bulky items on your regular collection day. Calling first lets it send the right kind of truck.
For a trip of your own, the city runs the Waste to Energy Facility on Geiger Boulevard, west of downtown, open 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. every day. Spokane County runs two more drop-off stations, one up north on Elk-Chattaroy Road and one in the Valley on Sullivan Road. Hazardous waste goes to the county stations on Saturdays and Sundays only.
Planning a big cleanout and thinking about a dumpster? In Spokane, it has to be the city's. The city rents temporary dumpsters in four sizes, for anywhere from two days to six months, and it prohibits temporary dumpsters from any other company inside city limits.
