Junk removal in the Pacific states
Oregon made it illegal in January 2010 to put computers, monitors and TVs in the garbage, or to dispose of them at a landfill or transfer station. California says it's against the law to throw e-waste like monitors, laptops and TVs in the trash. An authorized collector there takes it at no charge, once you give your name and address. Washington residents can recycle TVs, computers, laptops, monitors and tablets for free through E-Cycle Washington. Keyboards, mice and printers aren't part of that program.
