Junk removal in Trenton

Garbage in Trenton has a nine-hour window. Nothing goes out before 10 p.m. the night before, and everything has to be out by 7 a.m. on collection day. There's no garbage pickup on holidays, so if you set something out on one, the city wants it back off the curb right away.

Furniture and household appliances need their own trip. The Division of Solid Waste Management runs a special pick up for large bulk items, and you set it up by phone on weekdays between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

TVs and computers need yet another plan. New Jersey law bans throwing out a used computer, monitor, laptop or TV as solid waste. The Mercer County Improvement Authority, which also answers the city's recycling questions, runs household hazardous waste and electronics recycling events. Its site listed one for September 2026.

The city has also run citywide cleanups, one ward at a time. Its fall 2025 round took furniture and yard waste, curbed by 7 a.m., on four October Saturdays. Construction debris, chemicals, TVs, electronics and unbundled branches over 4 feet weren't part of it; for those, the city sent residents to the Street Division. The dates went North Ward on the 4th, West on the 11th, South on the 18th and East on the 25th.

Questions homeowners ask

How accurate is a photo estimate?
It’s a ballpark, not a quote. A photo gives us a good read on how much there is, but a hauler who sees it in person will always be more precise. Use our number as the range to expect before you start calling around.
How is junk removal priced?
By how much of a truck your stuff fills — a few items cost far less than a full truckload. Heavy or special items like appliances and mattresses add a disposal fee.
Do you handle big or heavy items?
Most haulers do — appliances, furniture, mattresses, construction debris. Let us know in the quick questions so the ballpark includes the disposal fees.
Is this really free?
Yes. No signup, no credit card, no spam. We only make money if you choose to connect with a local pro — and that’s up to you.
What photo works best?
One shot that shows the whole pile, or the full room, gives the best read on how much there is.
