Pressure washing in Little Rock

Sweep it: that's Little Rock Public Works' advice for a dirty driveway. The storm water brochure from its Civil Engineering Division tells residents to water the lawn, not the driveway, since the driveway won't grow, and to sweep sidewalks and driveways clean instead. For other cleaning around the house, it suggests plain mixes, such as liquid castile soap with baking soda or borax, in place of toxic products.

Old brick in the MacArthur Park Historic District comes with a number. The district's design guidelines, dated September 2024, say not to sandblast masonry or clean it with water above 300 pounds per square inch. Damage to the hard outer face of the brick is permanent, they warn, and it lets water in. Hydrochloric acid and similar cleaners are ruled out too.

For dirt, soot, mold and stains on that masonry, the guidelines ask for the gentlest method that works: mild detergents with natural-bristle brushes, water misting, or steam cleaning with water. Oil and metal stains call for non-ionic detergents or a suitable commercial product, and cleaning products should be biodegradable. Before cleaning or stripping paint, test the method on a spot that won't show, to make sure it doesn't discolor or damage the wall.

Questions homeowners ask

How accurate is a photo estimate?
It’s a ballpark, not a quote. A photo gives us a good read on the surface and how dirty it is, but a pro who sees the whole property will always be more precise. Use our number as the range to expect before you start calling around.
How is pressure washing priced?
Mostly by the square footage and the surface — a concrete driveway is cheaper per foot than siding or a wood deck, which need a gentler soft-wash. Heavy algae, mildew, or oil stains add to it because they take detergent and a second pass.
Will pressure washing damage my siding or deck?
It can if it’s done at full pressure on the wrong surface — that’s why good pros soft-wash siding and wood. Our ballpark factors in the gentler method for delicate surfaces.
Is this really free?
Yes. No signup, no credit card, no spam. We only make money if you choose to connect with a local pro — and that’s up to you.
What photo works best?
One shot showing the full surface you want cleaned — the whole driveway or the side of the house — gives the best read on the size and how dirty it is.
