Junk removal in Chattanooga

Chattanooga's bulk trash week starts at 7 a.m. on a Monday. Trucks sweep each area of the city on a rotating schedule, and your pile has to be at the curb by then on the Monday of your collection week. You can look up your week online. Keep bulk trash in its own pile, apart from brush, bagged yard waste and leaves.

Furniture, mattresses, heavy appliances, water heaters, carpet and padding, grills, large toys and TVs all go. Building materials, lumber, drywall, tile, glass and mirrors, tires and cardboard boxes don't. The service isn't for businesses, apartment complexes or landlords, and you or a relative must live at the address.

Old boards are where the curb and the city's three refuse collection centers part ways. The centers, on Airport Road, North Access Road and West 57th Street, take lumber, vinyl and landscape timbers, plus drywall up to one truckload and up to four car tires. They're closed Mondays. Each load has to fit in a standard pickup bed, with nothing bigger than a pickup and no tandem-axle trailers. You get 12 visits per calendar year, and the attendant can turn a load away.

At the gate, the driver needs a license that shows a city of Chattanooga address, and the vehicle needs Hamilton County tags. New to the city? A utility bill can show residency instead.

Questions homeowners ask

How accurate is a photo estimate?
It’s a ballpark, not a quote. A photo gives us a good read on how much there is, but a hauler who sees it in person will always be more precise. Use our number as the range to expect before you start calling around.
How is junk removal priced?
By how much of a truck your stuff fills — a few items cost far less than a full truckload. Heavy or special items like appliances and mattresses add a disposal fee.
Do you handle big or heavy items?
Most haulers do — appliances, furniture, mattresses, construction debris. Let us know in the quick questions so the ballpark includes the disposal fees.
Is this really free?
Yes. No signup, no credit card, no spam. We only make money if you choose to connect with a local pro — and that’s up to you.
What photo works best?
One shot that shows the whole pile, or the full room, gives the best read on how much there is.
