Stucco repair in Memphis

Start with the ground under Memphis. The USGS says the city is built on a pile of sediment about a kilometer thick, filling a trough called the Mississippi embayment. Across much of southeast Memphis, the top layer is loess, a wind-blown silt that runs roughly 15 to 50 feet deep. University of Memphis researchers note that loess is highly sensitive to disturbance.

The USGS also says damaging earthquakes here are only moderately likely, but the stakes are high, mostly because of the New Madrid seismic zone, and that the deep sediment changes how the ground shakes.

Weather adds its own stress. Memphis averages about 55 inches of rain a year, with March and April the wettest months. On July 22, 2003, a derecho crossed the city with a gust of about 100 mph downtown and left more than 750,000 people in the area without power. The weather service calls it probably the most significant straight-line wind event in Mid-South history.

Questions homeowners ask

How accurate is a photo estimate?
It’s a ballpark, not a quote. A photo tells us a lot about the type and size of the damage, but a local pro who walks the wall will always be more precise. Use our number as the range to expect before you start calling around.
What does stucco repair usually cost?
Small patch jobs often land in the low hundreds. Cracks across a whole wall, or water damage behind the stucco, can run into the thousands. Your photo and ZIP help us narrow it to a range that fits your area.
Do I need to know the square footage?
No. Take your best guess if you can, but if you’re not sure, just skip it — we’ll estimate the size from your photo and your answers.
Is this really free?
Yes. No signup, no credit card, no spam. We only make money if you choose to connect with a local pro — and that’s up to you.
What photo works best?
A clear shot of the damaged area in daylight, plus one from a few steps back so we can see how big it is. More photos help.
