Stucco repair in Wichita

Wichita holds a hail record nobody wants. On September 15, 2010, a stone 7.75 inches across and weighing 1.1 pounds fell in southwest Wichita, the Wichita weather office reports. It came out of a swath from Goddard to Udall where baseball-size to bigger-than-softball hail damaged numerous cars and homes. On September 3, 2025, parts of the city took baseball-size hail again, with extensive damage to cars and homes.

Wichita's stucco history runs back to its 1920s revival houses. In College Hill, the Frank E. Blaser House on North Crestway is a Spanish Revival house built in 1929, with the stucco walls the style is known for. Its National Register nomination says the houses on its block went up between 1923 and 1929, many built by contractors on speculation, and that the Blaser House is still architecturally intact as originally built.

Hail treats stucco differently than siding. It doesn't leave a dent you can see from the curb. It cracks the finish or knocks out a crater, and the open spot lets rain sit against the base coat and the lath behind it. On an older wall, that slow soaking can end up worse than the hit itself.

Questions homeowners ask

How accurate is a photo estimate?
It’s a ballpark, not a quote. A photo tells us a lot about the type and size of the damage, but a local pro who walks the wall will always be more precise. Use our number as the range to expect before you start calling around.
What does stucco repair usually cost?
Small patch jobs often land in the low hundreds. Cracks across a whole wall, or water damage behind the stucco, can run into the thousands. Your photo and ZIP help us narrow it to a range that fits your area.
Do I need to know the square footage?
No. Take your best guess if you can, but if you’re not sure, just skip it — we’ll estimate the size from your photo and your answers.
Is this really free?
Yes. No signup, no credit card, no spam. We only make money if you choose to connect with a local pro — and that’s up to you.
What photo works best?
A clear shot of the damaged area in daylight, plus one from a few steps back so we can see how big it is. More photos help.
