Pressure washing in Wichita

Wichita has been on a Permanent Outdoor Watering Schedule since Monday, September 15, 2025. K-State's Sedgwick County extension office, on a page updated June 30, 2026, says it's still in effect for all City of Wichita and municipal water users. Watering is limited to three days a week, assigned by odd or even address. None is allowed between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., or on Mondays. The page writes those rules for watering and doesn't mention washing.

Private wells are exempt, though the office asks well owners to conserve and follow the city's drought-stage practices too. Well water can come with a catch for the yard. In parts of Sedgwick County, the office says, water is poor for irrigation because of high sodium or total soluble salts, and many wells aren't suitable for it. White residue on plant leaves is one sign it names, and it offers an irrigation-quality test that checks salts and sodium.

The page also lays out the city's three-stage drought plan for outdoor water use. Stage 1 is voluntary conservation, and Stage 2 limits outdoor use under mandatory rules. Stage 3 is no outdoor water use, and the page lists no exceptions, so a house or driveway wash on city water would have to wait it out.

Questions homeowners ask

How accurate is a photo estimate?
It’s a ballpark, not a quote. A photo gives us a good read on the surface and how dirty it is, but a pro who sees the whole property will always be more precise. Use our number as the range to expect before you start calling around.
How is pressure washing priced?
Mostly by the square footage and the surface — a concrete driveway is cheaper per foot than siding or a wood deck, which need a gentler soft-wash. Heavy algae, mildew, or oil stains add to it because they take detergent and a second pass.
Will pressure washing damage my siding or deck?
It can if it’s done at full pressure on the wrong surface — that’s why good pros soft-wash siding and wood. Our ballpark factors in the gentler method for delicate surfaces.
Is this really free?
Yes. No signup, no credit card, no spam. We only make money if you choose to connect with a local pro — and that’s up to you.
What photo works best?
One shot showing the full surface you want cleaned — the whole driveway or the side of the house — gives the best read on the size and how dirty it is.
