Junk removal in the West North Central states

Where an old washer or fridge can end up changes at each state line here. Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska and North Dakota all keep discarded household appliances out of their landfills. Iowa requires every discarded appliance to be demanufactured, which takes out PCB parts, mercury and refrigerant, before it's disposed of or recycled. South Dakota's rules let a landfill accept large items, white goods included. Kansas guidance from 2002 allowed white goods in landfills too, but urged repair, resale or recycling instead.

Questions homeowners ask

How accurate is a photo estimate?
It’s a ballpark, not a quote. A photo gives us a good read on how much there is, but a hauler who sees it in person will always be more precise. Use our number as the range to expect before you start calling around.
How is junk removal priced?
By how much of a truck your stuff fills — a few items cost far less than a full truckload. Heavy or special items like appliances and mattresses add a disposal fee.
Do you handle big or heavy items?
Most haulers do — appliances, furniture, mattresses, construction debris. Let us know in the quick questions so the ballpark includes the disposal fees.
Is this really free?
Yes. No signup, no credit card, no spam. We only make money if you choose to connect with a local pro — and that’s up to you.
What photo works best?
One shot that shows the whole pile, or the full room, gives the best read on how much there is.
