Window replacement in Corpus Christi

Texas's windstorm rules got an update this year, and Corpus Christi is squarely inside them. Both Nueces and San Patricio counties lie inside the catastrophe area Texas has drawn along its coast. There, a house qualifies for a Texas Windstorm Insurance Association policy by holding a certificate of compliance. Since April 1, 2026, the Texas Department of Insurance has required windstorm certificate applications to be certified to the 2024 International Residential Code or International Building Code.

For windows, the key line is about flying debris. TDI says most of the catastrophe area now falls inside the windborne debris region, where the 2024 codes' debris-protection requirements apply. The design wind speed is worked out for each house's location, using a tool such as ASCE's hazard lookup, so the number comes from your address, not just your county.

Harvey showed what's at stake. In August 2017, it came ashore as a category 4 hurricane on the northern end of San José Island, about 5 nautical miles east of Rockport. The National Hurricane Center says wind damage was extreme in Aransas, Nueces, Refugio and eastern San Patricio counties, where about 15,000 homes were destroyed and another 25,000 damaged. The city of Corpus Christi was spared the worst, with widespread but mostly minor damage.

Questions homeowners ask

How accurate is a photo estimate?
It’s a ballpark, not a quote. A photo shows us the window type and material, but a local pro who measures each opening will always be more precise. Use our number as the range to expect before you start calling around.
How is window replacement priced?
Mostly by the window — the number of windows times a per-window price for the material and size. Tell us how many you’re replacing and we’ll do the math.
What if I only photograph one window?
That’s fine for the per-window price, but we can’t count your whole house from one photo. Pop in how many windows you want done and the ballpark gets a lot tighter.
Is this really free?
Yes. No signup, no credit card, no spam. We only make money if you choose to connect with a local pro — and that’s up to you.
What photo works best?
A clear shot of a typical window — inside or out — plus a note on how many you’re replacing.
